A microfilmed record that contains license returns for peddlers and hawkers of tinware, clocks and foreign merchandise. The returns were submitted to the State Auditor General by officers of the Court of Common Pleas, the Court of Quarter Sessions, the Mayor's Court, and the City Treasurer of Philadelphia. Besides recording the amounts of fees received, the documents usually mention the name and residence of the dealer, the type of license applied for, and the date that he or she was licensed.
